BE MINE!!!

The Youth Valentines Banquet/Dinner is THIS FRIDAY, February 11th, at 6:30PM at the church. Come and bring a friend! You don't have to bring a date, but do try to bring someone with you! We will be getting a head count this Wednesday! Dress for the event is not dressy, but not sloppy. Come looking nice! The food will be great!! Looking forward to it!!!

New Year, New Decade, New Possibilities!!!

2011 is upon us. We have such a beautiful opportunity this year, and this decade. Just to keep you updated on what the future is shaping up to look like, here are some ideas that are floating around for this year:

* Youth Valentines Banquet - Friday, February 11th, 6:30PM at the church. Sponsored by your Brother Wayne and Mrs. Alyene.
* March 13th - Deadline to sign up and turn in your deposit for Summer Youth Camp. We will also begin fundraisers in March.
* March 19th - Senior Tea. Seniors, put this on your calendars now! You will spend the day with Meredith and Gordon, most likely in Montgomery.
* April 17th - 2nd Youth Camp Payment Due.
* April 24th - Easter - We hope to also have the youth do a drama presentation some time around Easter. Be listening for details regarding practice times and schedules!
* May 22nd - Final Youth Camp Payment Due.
* June 24-27, 2011 - Summer Youth Camp, Laguna Beach Christian Retreats, Laguna Beach, Florida.

Goals:
* Keep supporting Sarada and Nandini through Holt International. Please continue to bring your $3 each month. If we collect more than the $30 each month then we will purchase a gift to send that month as well.
* Mission Projects - Within and outside of our church.
* Easter drama presentation.
* Increase our numbers, but more importantly help those who attend grow in their relationships with Christ.

I'm sure there are many more events that will be planned and goals that we need to set so feel free to call/email/text them to me. Make it a point at least weekly to check this blog for news and new pictures. I hope you will remind me to do a better job of keeping up with it!

Youth Camp 2010

Last night we began our discussions of this Summer's Youth Camp!
Be sure to be at church so you can get all of the information!
Cost: $215 per person ($10 less than last year)
Dates: June 11-14, 2010
Place: Laguna Beach Christian Retreat, Laguna Beach, FL

Xtreme Weekend 2010

REMINDER: Xtreme Weekend is January 29-31! I need your registration form and money ($25) by Sunday, January 17th, at the VERY latest. Make checks payable to HBC. Get your Permission Forms filled out and signed ASAP too. I'll need them before the big weekend arrives!

Be rounding up your sleeping bags and/or blankets and pillows. Pack your Bible, shampoo, conditioner, soap, Bible, makeup, clothes, undies, Bible, razor, deodorant, brush, Bible, hair dryer, shoes, kleenex, Bible, toothbrush, toothpaste, and Bible. Did I mention to bring your Bible?

Leave any prank supplies (toilet paper - unless you plan to use it on your behind; water guns; silly string; fireworks, shaving cream, etc.), weapons, iPods, and radios at HOME. Christian music will be provided for you to listen to and other necessary supplies will be provided.

Also, bring snacks to share! If you think you may want it to snack on, bring it with you. I have popcorn (but we know my history of popping popcorn...). For drinks, we prefer the small 8 oz cans instead of the 12 oz cans so they won't waste as much. But bring what you want to drink and we'll have a cooler, as well as cups if you bring a 2-liter. We will have a total of 11 youth in our house, as well as 3-4 adults.

Everyone will need to meet at Gordon & Meredith's house no later than 5:30PM on Friday, January 29th. Registration is at 6pm and you will need to have your stuff in the house before we leave for registration.

Fireball - January 2, 2010






Basically, we were tossin around a baseball or softball that had been soaked in kerosene and lit on fire. FUN!!! Of course, we were wearing yard gloves so our hands didn't get burned.
